Modernly, these decorative clothes are made with a host of different materials.

They seemingly find their origin in China and other east asian countries also appear to have adopted this ornate fashion and eventually this became popularised the world over.

The popularisation of brocade throughout Europe can be credited to Italy, during the reneissance period. This is likely where you would asscoiate these patterns; draped on the bodies of of subjects painted.

Thanks to this resurgence, brocade remains a popular staple in fashion, belonging on evening gowns and even haute coture.

Despite historical reiforcement, Brocade can actually be made fromsimple patterns which spells it's popularity today across germanic nations and much of Africa.
